The world of The Retrospectre is filled with a rich and diverse cast ranging from the pauper to the powerful, the devout to the devious. It is the interaction of these myriad agents that sets the world into motion, spinning events into twirling dervishes of activity, breathing animate life into each moment.
These characters exist in either organic or digital forms and can be categorized accordingly. Humans are organic, generally naturally born, and always dreadfully mortal. Meanwhile, cogs, the AI agents, are digital denizens brought into being through code and datasets, birthed with purpose and free of the existential angst of their corporeal companions.
