Modder groups are, generally speaking, very secretive and exclusive. Because modders themselves are known for their strong sense of individuality, their groups tend to cohere against a single niche shared ideal or activity that attracts a particular type of modder. For instance, some groups work exclusively on hijacking corporation servers and ransoming them, and even this activity can be motivated by anti-corporate sentiment or merely the sizeable paychecks after each job. What modder groups mostly all have in common, however, is the desire to carve a name for themselves somewhere on the Plex or in the Mesh.
