The city doesn’t run itself. Well, it does, but we can’t really let anyone know that. Welcome to the Municipal team, among which you will find public politicians and city staff who maintain the illusion of keeping things going. In truth, your job is theater, and you know it. Civix does all the hard work, and even the policymakers only go through the parliamentary song and dance of approving projects and signing ordinances introduced by Civix itself. But as a human extension of the Municipal control system, there is an important role to be held being a member of the staff. Citizens need the parade to feel at ease. Not only do they need champions to stand behind, but they need scapegoats to blame when everything goes south. A politician’s role is one of distraction and strategic crowd control. Meanwhile, behind-the-scenes staff members need to be the hands of Civix, completing any work deemed necessary by the system. This ranges from police-led evictions to public advisory committees to the occasional bribe or smuggling run. It’s all in a days work for the Municipal staff.

Bonus:
