Probably the most mysterious group on the streets, Shamans claim to be privy to esoteric historical knowledge imparted upon them. While there is no small number of homeless and displaced individuals in the world, including in South Harbor and surrounding cities, Shamans willingly choose to live on the streets. Their tight community and myriad resources in the form of items, techniques, and even fairly secret safe houses scattered throughout the town make it so they remain clean, fed, rested, and off the radar for the crime of vagrancy. Opting out of the world’s economic rules, shamans make their way largely through bartering and through favors, and when spendable money must be made they do so through guided drug-induced trips, spiritual guidance and protection, and the sale of unique crafts like jewelry. Shamans have figured something out for certain, but due to their strict level of secrecy, they aren’t telling anyone outside of their group. And what they do say is in the form of cryptic riddles and hidden truths only they can easily decipher. With their spiritual talents and closed martial art, they are uniquely suited for life on the city streets.
