Vigilantes protect private interests under the guise of the public good. Among them are many who earnestly believe they’re doing God’s work. Among them is Erikson, a fast-shooting, slow-talking cowboy with a reputation for bringing in wounded bounties or leaving them lifeless in the gutter where he found them. In Erikson’s eyes, all this newfangled cybercrime is for delusional, self-important vandals too cowardly to step from in front of their computers and commit real crimes. The rise in protests is merely the whining of mentally ill communists, and indicative of a decline in American values as far as he’s concerned. He’s good enough to have open Coalition contracts and to act with next to full impunity due to his deep-pocketed corporate backers.
