If you manage to establish a friendship with him, he will never sell you out. In some ways, it’s how he protects himself; being trustworthy makes him invaluable to others. But beyond that, being true to his allegiance is a value underlying Mateo’s moral core to a degree that’s incorruptible. Mateo runs the MetroMart, a convenience store from which he also pushes stims and Clarion to anyone looking for a decent buzz and with the bits to trade for it. Besides merely that however, his connections make him a good plug for anything you might want to find to make survival easier on the streets of South Harbor.
