A reluctant hero walks the streets of a city diseased with corruption in a world crushed under the weight of its own progress. The city all but begs him to rise to the challenge of being its salvation. The call comes and repeatedly he refuses to answer, despite that he is uniquely capable of providing what it needs to heal. Instead, he hides in the liminal spaces between sun and shadow, working to escape his service to the underworld and struggling to survive the cruel and competitive rat race of “legitimate” labor. However, everything comes to a head when his own secrets collide with a mystery underpinning every part of the reality he’s come to know and he has no choice but to respond when the call to adventures beckons again.
